Carolina Reaper Worlds Hottest Chilli Pepper

Crowned the hottest chilli in the world November 2013 is the Carolina Reaper.
The Carolina Reaper’s Scoville heat rating beats the former record holder for most deadly chilli, the Trinidad Scorpion Butch T that’s grown by The Chilli Factory in Australia, the Butch T was rated at 1,463,700 Scoville Heat Units in March 2011.
The Carolina Reaper is best described as having a fragrant fruity, sweet taste with hints of cinnamon and chocolate undertones, as well as being extremely hot beast.
The record-breaking Carolina Reaper has now been ten years in the making, it has taken meticulous worked to stabilising the pepper, which is a crossing between Sweet Habanero and the Naga Viper chilli.
Chilli heat is measured by the Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) the test was created by the American chemist Wilbur Scoville in 1912.
