This chilli may be tiny but this little pod packs some real heat. It has a unique smokiness to it making it popular in many Mexican dishes. Just to confuse it is also referred to as Piquen, or Penguin Pepper, Chile Mosquito, Bird Pepper, Rice Pepper and Chile Pequin. The pods have an oval shape with the pods no bigger than 2cms long. Plants are hardy if kept indoors (frost free) and produce most of the year round. You’ll never be short of a hot chilli with this plant in the garden.
